well i have a low credit score but i was still able to finance a car about 8 months ago with the help of a co-signer. I have been paying my car on time since i got it 8 month now a couple of payments have even been done ahead of time. well about a month a go i got all 3 of my credit report and opened up account with free credit report dot com and i have monitoring my credit ever since. i found on my report that i have 3 negative accounts one of them was of $2000 that wasn't even mine so i quickly called the collection agency that appeared in the report and they said they would do further investigation and if its not mine they will delete it from my report im still waiting for that to happen. the other 2 i know about i paid one of them in full and the other one im giving payments to almost have it paid off. yet my credit report still stays that same. the other night i tried to apply for a credit card to see if that can help my credit go up a little and was declined. the next day i got an email from free credit report about a change in my report when i look it was the credit card that was declined made my report drop 14 points. So i pay one of the accounts in full i am making the effort to pay off another account which is almost paid off just one more payment, and i pay my car loan on time every month and my credit score wont improve. i get declined for a credit card and my score drops 14 points in one day whats the deal with that? what am i doing wrong?

I was in an accident where someone side swiped me ($5.5k worth of damage). Their insurance company paid and I just got my car back (2007 Lexus IS 250 - 29k miles). I had just purchased the car 4 weeks prior to the accident from CarMax for $27k. Out of curiosity I went back to see what CarMax would give me and they offered $18k. Hi and thanks for taking time to help me out. I have bought a BMW 540i (1997) back in January. I was really happy as this was my first car. Two weeks ago, I was driving to France and my gearbox died leaving me only with the first gear working. I went to a garage in France and we phoned the insurance but the insurance said that it cannot guarantee that it would cover me. They offered me to leave the car in France and to go back to London by myself. I refused to consider this option as I could not allow my self to stay in France (I had to go back to work) for more than the week-end and I could not afford to take the train/plane from Paris to London. The insurer said that they would not cover any costs associated with me going back to London. So I had to get the car back to London, and to drive it back home. I went to a garage where a very nice person accepted to take care of the car. He phoned the insurance and arranged everything. The insurer sent some engineers who inspected the car and the insurance said to the garage that they would only cover 65% of the costs...due to the mileage of the car (83,000 miles roughly). The garage has repared the car without asking me if I was ok to pay the last 35% and the insurer did not mention it to me either. I am going to call the insurance tomorrow to get more details about this story...but my concern is that : 1/ I am afraid of talking to them and to commit a mistake that could cost me more 2/ I don't know exactly what I am entitled to get and what are my resources in case they just refuse to change anything on this 3/ They ask me to pay the money upfront (around 2,000) and then I would have to make a claime but...I don't feel confident doing this..and I am far from having this money... Like why can't he fix his car under the new insurance? it makes no sense. I've had my license for about 3 weeks now. All my friends have been put under insurance as soon as they got their license. I'm trying to get a job, but I cant because I'm not on the insurance. and no one can drive me to work since they work themselves. My parents think my older brother is my personal driver, its annoying. I don't know what to do. Any advice?
